Beat Down
Results: The omens did not look good for Mad Mudders coming into the game. They had scored the second fewest points of any team over the last three weeks, while Team Up Honor had scored the most points of any team. Both teams lived up (or down) to expectations. Team Up Honor thoroughly dominated Mad Mudders, winning 146 to 59. The win brings Team Up Honor to 4 – 6, and sends them to the top of our internal power rankings. The loss drops Mad Mudders' record to 5 – 5. Team Up Honor got a nice group performance in the win, as five players beat their positional averages. The Seahawks Defense/ST was just a bit ahead of the others, totaling 27 points.1 That's the most points that they've scored so far this year. After the Seahawks' performance this week, they moved up to being the best Defense/ST in the league. Meanwhile, Ryan Fitzgerald and Oronde Gadsden II both posted identical 1 point marks for Mad Mudders this week. Gadsden II is in the midst of a troubling sequence, having seen his point total fall every week for the last three weeks. Both teams face trouble in the upcoming schedule. Mad Mudders' loss this week is especially bad as it represented the last easy game they will have for a while. The next three games are against winning teams, starting with The Dominators next week. The game will be a rematch from week six, and Coach Yarger will no doubt be worried that Rico Dowdle will drop another 32 points for The Dominators like he did the last time those teams faced off. Team Up Honor's next game will be against Big Dog Sports in a rematch from week seven. Team Up Honor ended up getting crushed in the previous matchup by 56 points. Team Up Honor will be attempting to give Big Dog Sports their first back-to-back losses. Predictions: Mudders by 1 Bye week players: Higins & Worthy is lost for Mudders while Honor lose Rice & Chase.
