The Thrill of (a) Victory
Results: Team Up Honor gets a one week break from a bleak season This contest featured the top performing player this week in Ja'Marr Chase, and not surprisingly, he played on the winning team.1 Team Up Honor skated by Juggernauts pretty easily, winning 127 to 102 behind 32 points from Chase. Quite an improvement from last week, when he managed only 2 points. Team Up Honor also got a big effort from Jaxon Smith-Njigba (9.6 points above expected). Smith-Njigba got Seattle on the board with this perfect touchdown. Team Up Honor overcame poor performances from Chase Brown and the Rams Defense/ST (5 points combined) in getting this win. Meanwhile, there were plenty of chefs cooking up this week's loss for Juggernauts. Jameson Williams was the worst of a six man group of underperformers, scoring zero points. Underperforming is the new normal for Williams, who has gone three straight games without hitting his projected point total. The win is the first of the season for Team Up Honor, making their record 1 – 4. The loss drops Juggernauts' record to 1 – 3 – 1. Predictions: Juggernauts by 1 Bye week players: Metcalf, McManus and Falcons for Juggernauts while the Honor lose Kraft. QBs: Hurts VS Jones, does Jyden finally play again? Jalen is playing Denver at home. While Daniel is playing the Raiders at home. RBs: Hampton & McCaffrey VS Dobbins & Hall, Hampton has been on a roll the last few weeks does that continue in week 5? WRs: Chase & JSN VS Egbuka & Addison or Williams, who replaces Metcalf in the Juggernauts lineup? |
Putting on a Show
Results: Nothing 86 VS Yoopers 74 George Pickens was tops on Here Goes Nothing in the win Scoring the fewest points in the league for the week is bad strategy. Just ask Coach Kyle Kuopus. Da Yoopers lost to Here Goes Nothing, 86 to 74. The loss is part of bad trend for Da Yoopers, who have scored fewer points than the week before for three straight weeks now. The loss drops Da Yoopers' record to 2 – 2 – 1, while the win brings Here Goes Nothing to 1 – 3 – 1. Three players ( George Pickens, Evan Engram, and Garrett Wilson) delivered victory to Here Goes Nothing, getting 42 of their team's 86 points. That makes it four straight games of overperforming expectations for Pickens. Meanwhile, Da Yoopers were having trouble reaching paydirt, getting into the end zone only one time. No other team scored fewer TDs this week. Da Yoopers and Big Dog Sports play next week in a battle for the North division lead. That contest will be a rematch from week one, when Da Yoopers and Big Dog Sports ended in a tie. Meanwhile, Here Goes Nothing will be playing Team Up Honor. Predictions: Yoopers by 1 Bye week players: London for Nothing, while Yoopers lose no starters. QBs: Nix VS Herbert, Bo is playing at Philly while Justin is playing Washington at home. RBs: Irving & Pollard VS Achane & Etienne, Bucky had nice week 4 as did Travis. Can both players repeat the high performance in week 5? WRs: Hill & Jefferson VS Allen & Watson, Kenaan got the start last week but only scored 3 points does he get replaced this week? |
All Eyes on Me
Results: Jaylen Waddle drops 23 points in leading The Dominators to victory The Dominators had to be wary coming into this game after losing both matches against Not Dead Yet last season. Thankfully for Coach Dennis Helm, the past was not prelude. The Dominators ended up on top against Not Dead Yet, winning 127 to 113. The win brings The Dominators' record to 3 – 2, while dropping Not Dead Yet to 1 – 4. Coach Helm put Jaylen Waddle into the lineup for the first time, and he came through. Waddle joined up with Rico Dowdle and Sam LaPorta to tally 69 points. Waddle's third touchdown of the season was this 46-yard go-ahead score. Meanwhile, Drake Maye was clearly the weakest link for Coach Patrick O'Dell and the gang as he totaled 11 points.2 Maye's performance this week definitively ended a three game streak of beating the experts' projections. He didn't throw a touchdown this week, but it wasn't for a lack of trying. Having forgotten to set his lineup last week, it seems Coach O'Dell has returned to the living this week. He wound up with a perfect lineup this week, albeit by following the CBSSports projections to the letter. This is the first time this year that Coach O'Dell has pulled that off. Predictions: Dead by 1 Bye week players: Warren for Dead while Dominators loe Robinson, Jacobs & Odunze QBs: Mahomes VS Maye, Patrick is playing at Jacksonville. Drake is playing at Buffalo. RBs: Barkley & Williams VS Hubbard & Charbonet, both backs from last week are off this week, can the two fill-ins compete at a high level? WRs: Brown & McLaurin VS Collins & Sutton, can Terry play this week? If not the Dominators will have to hit the waiver wire. |
End of the Line
Results: Cougars 136 VS Attack 124 Sack Attack can't extend their winning streak past Jonathan Taylor and Lady Cougars After knocking Sack Attack out of the playoffs last year, you might expect Lady Cougars to give 'em a break this week. Well, they didn't. Lady Cougars earned a nice victory over Sack Attack, winning 136 to 124. With the win, Lady Cougars put an end to Sack Attack's four-game win streak. The win brings Lady Cougars to 4 – 1, and sends them to the top of our internal power rankings. The loss was only the first for Sack Attack, whose record now sits at 4 – 1. Coach Laurie Leboeuf didn't rely on her All-Stars to pull this one out, instead getting contributions from unexpected quarters. Jake Ferguson scored 19 points, Baker Mayfield got 35, and DeVonta Smith dropped 11. Mayfield's 35 point performance this week moves him up to being the 3rd best quarterback in the league this season. He is the first QB with 375+ passing yards and fewer than 5 incompletions in a regular season game. Meanwhile, it will be difficult for Coach Steve Pintar to fault any one player for the loss. Sack Attack had five underperformers, with Mark Andrews (2 points) being the worst. Andrews' 2 point performance was the worst of any tight end this week. Next week, Lady Cougars will take on the 1 – 3 – 1 Juggernauts. Meanwhile, Sack Attack will take on Not Dead Yet. Predictions: Cougars by 1 Bye week players: steelers defense for Attack, Cougars none for Cougars. QBs: Goff or Jackson VS Mayfield, We shall see if Jackson can play this week if not Jared in playing at Cincy. Baker is playing at Seattle. RBs: Gibbs & Mason VS Taylor & Kamara, JT scored under 10 points last week does he bounce back? Gibbs is playing at Cincy, can he play at a high level on the road? WRs: Puka & Harrison VS Samuel & Smith, with Ricky hurt, the Attack turn back to Harrison and hope he can score a TD like he did last week. Deebo was very active last week, this week he plays at the Raiders. |
Easy Does It
Results: Sports 93 VS Mudders 89 David Montgomery made it rain for Mad Mudders After last week's blowout, Big Dog Sports got a big change of pace with this week's tight contest versus Mad Mudders. In the only close game this week, Big Dog Sports just barely got past Mad Mudders, winning 93 to 89. Big Dog Sports won despite having the 4th lowest scoring total in the league this week. With the win, they moved to 3 – 1 – 1, good for the top spot in the North division. The loss drops Mad Mudders' record to 3 – 2. Coach Thomas Schwanebeck could not have been happy with their squad after Sunday's main action. They had six underperformers, with Kendre Miller (4 points) bringing up the rear. Miller might be heading back to the waiver wire after getting picked up before this game. Big Dog Sports also had to deal with a poor effort from Quentin Johnston (7.8 points below expected). Meanwhile, Mad Mudders were at least doing decent. The tag team of David Montgomery and Ryan Fitzgerald carried the water, scoring 28 points between them. Montgomery's performance paced Mad Mudders for the 2nd time this year. Going into Sunday night, our projections had Mad Mudders comfortably ahead (they had a 95.8% chance of winning). However, that was before the rest of Coach Dwight Yarger's squad decided to go on vacation. James Cook was the worst of them, scoring 8.8 points fewer than he was expected to, which was enough to give Big Dog Sports the victory. Predictions: Mudders by 1 Bye week players:Packers defense for Mudders. Swift, but Nabers was lost for the season. QBs: Murray VS Allen, Kyler is playing the Tians while Josh is playing New England at home. RBs: Cook & Henry VS Williams & Stevenson, with Swift off, Stevenson moves from the Flex to the RB position. Henry may not have his QB in Lamar in Baltimore this week. WRs: Adams & Johnston VS Higgins & Thomas Jr. With Nabers out, does Johnston get the start this week? |
