Down to the Wire
Results: All 22 of Nico Collins' points counted in Not Dead Yet's win In a game that couldn't get much closer, Not Dead Yet slipped by Team Up Honor, winning 84 to 82. The 2 point margin that separated these two teams is the smallest gap of the season so far. The loss drops Team Up Honor to 0 – 3, and sinks them to the bottom of our internal power rankings. The win brings Not Dead Yet to 1 – 2. Nico Collins was the key contributor for Not Dead Yet, posting 22 points. Meanwhile, Coach Andy Lisowski will have a hard time pinning the blame for this loss on any particular player. Team Up Honor had seven underperformers, with Chase Brown (1 point) being the worst.1 Brown's 1 point performance was the worst of any running back this week. He has now failed to hit his expected points in any game so far this year. On the coaching front, both sides made mistakes this week. While Coach Patrick O'Dell might have gotten the victory, it wasn't due to his efforts. He left Drake Maye and Kenneth Walker III on the bench in favor of Jordan Love and Jaylen Warren, who were both expected to score less. These decisions shaved 24 points from Not Dead Yet's score, which almost cost Coach O'Dell's team the game. Coach O'Dell's decisions this week cost him his title as the best gameday coach in the league (Coach Dwight Yarger wears the crown now). Coach Lisowski also has to be kicking himself for his lineup decisions this week. He started Tetairoa McMillan and the Ravens Defense/ST instead of J.K. Dobbins and the Rams Defense/ST, despite expert advice to do the exact opposite. These terrible decisions took a 22 point chunk out of Team Up Honor's final score, which cost them the game. After his decisions this week, Coach Lisowski has now cost his team points for the season (17 points worse than the experts). Predictions: Dead by 1 |
